About us

The family owned company Cumbria Cold Storage Limited was founded by Tom Cragg and Don Cuttriss in 1958, under the name Cragg and Cuttriss, which it still trades under today.

The two partners started out with two cattle wagons over 50 years ago, and hauled live stock, which in time evolved into bulk haulage, and then on to chilled/frozen haulage.

Alongside the haulage operation the storage facilities were built to help with the bulk haulage, and after time the demand for bulk storage in the area reduced and chilled storage became more apparent, and the stores were modernised in 1988, and made temperature controlled. Since then the company has evolved into a nationwide haulage and storage operation.
